On 26th Jan 2019, the day arrived to play finals of U14 MDFA YPL 2018-19. It was the start of a beautiful day and an exciting match. We reached the ground and u16 FSI match was going on. Everyone was cheering for them. U16 FSI lost the match in the penalties. The U16 wished us best of luck. We went to the team changing room and started discussing our strategy for the final. This was my first time to play in Cooperate stadium.
So far we played 11 matches. We scored 33 goals, just 1 goal against.
Our sir announced the starting 11 which will play for the final. I was disappointed because I was not playing in the starting 11 but later I realized that being in grief won’t help my team and started cheering.
It was my first experience to sing the national anthem in the stadium. I can’t express that feeling. Felts goosebumps again now.
It was the first half when the game was 50-50 Darpan saved many goals and our strikers took attempts but couldn’t judge it on the target. In the second half, our coach Hemant sir guided us with very important inputs. We were building the attack but couldn’t score. It was the final whistle and the game went to penalties
Ansh scored the first goal and they too scored. In the second penalty Warris, he shot it correct and was a goal on the other side Darpan saved their penalty. The next penalty was taken by Ameesh his shot was accurate but the keeper saved it but we had Darpan who could save the goal and he did. The last penalty was taken by Om and it was decisive.
It was a score to win the situation. All hearts were pumping and om smashed it in the top right corner and we won the 2018-2019 MDFA YPL U14 tournament. We did thunderclaps for the u16 and parents who cheered for us.
When we got the trophy we sang…..who are the champions we are!!!
And it was the end of the wonderful day.
